Create a Successful Mindset

Welcome to The Limitless Blog! My name is Radhika and I'm the founder of Jiva More Life. Our mission is to inspire you to believe that you are limitless.

How do you establish a strong mindset?

A strong mindset means doing the things you say you're going to do. In order to establish this, pick one habit or a small goal that you want to achieve. Pick something you want to do every single day and then decide that you're going to start today. You have to commit and do it every single day without fail. Don’t put it off until tomorrow. Once you can do that for 30 or 60 days, then add another habit or increase your goal. Over time you'll see you have these really strong habits and a strong mindset to do the things you say you're going to do.

How do you know when you have a weak mindset?

You know you have a weak mindset when you're not doing the things that you want to be doing. Your actions or your days are filled with what's going on around you, like your environment or the people that you may be hanging out with, but not the things that you want to do. That’s when you can recognize you're in a weak mindset, because you're not in control. You're not doing the habits you want and you’re not focused on your goals - you're not working on all those things. You're just doing whatever people around you are doing because they're around you and you're around them.

What about when people say go with the flow?

Is the flow serving you?

What's the mindset you have going into creative challenges?

It's to be open because you don't have the answers. You don't know how to solve this issue or how to create this thing that you are trying to do so you have to be open to trying new things. Look for different references and see what you can put together to create the solution to the creative challenge that you're working on. For example, I’m currently working on fashion illustrations that are inspired by Disney Villains. What I had to think about was how do you take a character everyone knows and loves and grew up with, has seen countless times and create something new? I thought about what if these characters existed today and were walking around LA? They would be the elite of the elite, walking in Hollywood. So what would they look like or act like? What is their vibe? What would they be wearing? How would you know it is them? What are their signature pieces and styles? Then I spent a lot of time doing research and looking at different images, putting the design together over time, and then finally we get the creations that you see online.

How do you get your mind in the zone when you're creating art for your business?

I like to get in the zone by inspiring myself or getting myself excited. If I'm going to paint or draw something, I try to start thinking about it long before I'm actually going to do it. Then all day, I'm looking forward to it. I think about it like “this is a really exciting thing I'm going to do!” Then, once I get to it, I start looking for inspiration. For example, I'm releasing a new collection of mini paintings that are dreamscape clouds. I've been seeing a lot of really cool, dreamscape, vibrant skies on Instagram and I was like “Wait, I would love to do this!” but, I'd never created clouds before, so I had to hype myself up and realize it'll be hard, but do it anyway. Tell myself “It’s going to be fun! It's going to be exciting! Let's look up some tutorials. Let's look up how it's going to be, how it'll look, what tools I need, and then let’s just try it. If it doesn't work, who cares? We'll make another one, but this is going to be the best thing that ever happens! It'll just be fun and why not?” I really just try to hype myself up a lot, which gets me in the zone, and gets me excited to really create the best thing that I possibly could.
